Deep Dive: Infrared Heat
Infrared Heating Panels
Hi everyone,
Welcome back to the GLO Yoga sustainability blog! For this issue, I wanted to take a deeper dive into one of the most unique features of our studio: infrared heating panels.
You may have heard the term before or noticed the difference in how the heat feels during class, but infrared heat works very differently from traditional heating systems. Instead of warming the air, infrared panels heat the body directly. This creates a more even and comfortable warmth that many people find easier to practice in.
One of the most interesting aspects of infrared is that it can penetrate up to two inches into the body, which is deeper than traditional heating. This allows the heat to reach muscles and tissues more directly, which can help support circulation, flexibility, and overall relaxation during practice.
From a sustainability perspective, this technology also offers some important benefits. Because infrared panels focus heat directly on people and objects rather than the entire room, they can be more energy efficient. This means less energy is needed to maintain a consistent temperature, which helps reduce overall energy use.
Infrared heat also supports the overall wellness experience that GLO Yoga Studios is known for. Many people report improved circulation, increased flexibility, and a deeper sense of relaxation during and after class. It’s a great example of how sustainable design can also enhance personal well-being.
Another benefit of infrared panels is that they create a quieter and more consistent environment. Without the need for loud air systems or constant air circulation, the space feels calmer and more grounded, which allows for a more intentional practice.
What I find most interesting is how this technology reflects a larger shift in the wellness and fitness industry. Instead of relying on traditional systems, us here at GLO Yoga Studios are exploring innovative solutions that benefit people and the planet.
Thank you for reading and learning more about sustainability at GLO!
With gratitude,
Ava
